Founder Story

About George Parker

George Parker, founder of Blue Bird Waterfowl, has spent his life chasing wild things across land and sea. From running commercial fishing boats to long mornings in California’s tidal flats, George has always lived for the challenge of outsmarting nature.

The ocean taught him patience, timing, and how movement can be the difference between success and going home empty-handed. The marsh taught him grit and the importance of details when birds circle overhead. Together, those lessons forged the hunter, craftsman, and innovator behind Blue Bird Waterfowl.

The Creation of The Animator

While hunting one day in a blind, George noticed a problem: spinning-wing decoys caught attention, but too often failed to finish birds. Something was missing, the subtle sound and movement of real water. Drawing on his fisherman’s eye for natural realism, George started tinkering in his garage.

What came out was The Animator. A simple, rugged attachment that transforms standard decoys into lifelike water splashing machines. More than just motion, it delivers the sound and ripple that ducks and geese recognize as the real thing.

Tested in mud, wind, and weather, The Animator was built for hunters who demand gear that actually works. What began as a personal solution spread quickly among fellow waterfowlers and soon, Blue Bird Waterfowl was born.
